Well folks, it’s been fun, but I’ve decided to close up To-Done. It’s not so much that I don’t have time for it anymore, it’s just that I don’t have a whole lot more to say on a regular basis. Maybe I’ll re-open it down the road, but for now I’ll feel much better if I just put it to rest. In the meantime be sure and check my weekly column at Lifehacker!

Thanks for reading and joining in on the various discussions we’ve had. It’s been great fun while it lasted and I hope I helped some of y’all with your work/life balance.

Yours,

D. Keith Robinson

Sad to see if go, it’s a beautifully designed website with great advice. Did you consider offering for adoption? Or perhaps if the topic was not so limited?

Thank you for all the advice.

  4. Keith says:

Bruno — I did think of that. But in the end it’s my site and I wasn’t too comfortable to keep someone else tied to it. Think of it as a book. You can go back and read it whenever you want. Much of what’s in here is pretty timeless.

  5. been a pleasure to read. maybe you could make the occasional return?

  6. Best of luck to wherever life takes you from here – it’s been nice reading your material! :)

  18. I had to shut down a blog recently for the same reason of not being able to give it focus. Yours is the right decision.

Enjoyed it while it was going – one of my earlier blog subscriptions!

  19. Geoff says:

Sad to see the site go, as I only became acquainted with it relatively recently. Are you going to leave the site up for archival viewing? Or take it down completely?

  20. zx says:

Please consider leaving the site open so you can post any time it comes to mind. The hassle that comes with re-opening a site might hold you back from posting valuable entries again.

Good luck with your Lifehacker column, I’ll be following it as well.

How awful is this? I just found Go-Done today! And it’s OVER. So a question. Will the site still be available so I can read the archives? I do hope so. What I”ve read so far speaks to my own particular soul.

Over the years, you’ve helped me keep my dream of my own home-based business alive– and I’ve learned a lot from reading your site. Ironic that just as I am stepping out, you are stepping back. That’s fine, it is part of the process of living our lives for ourselves. I’m glad I am getting a chance to say thanks for all your sharing. It would have felt empty had I waited… and found you just gone! See you over there.

  40. m3nt0r says:

  43. Elle says:

Hope you’ll keep this site up for awhile. Lifehacker is one of my favorite sites.

But I’d just like to know, how did you do it? That is, have a popular blog that was only a year old? My blog is approaching two years and I have no readers. Any advice?

  44. Darren Lee says:
